Thanksgiving in Afghanistan

Jim and some of the guys on his FOB decided to have a Thanksgiving Day Parade and they made a turkey float to drive around the base. A couple guys even sat on lawnchairs on the float to wave and throw waterballoons at everyone as they drove by. This must be a new Thanksgiving tradition that I didn't know about...waterballoons on Thanksgiving. But hey, I guess they needed to make the holiday fun since they were away from their families! To round out the parade, a few guys followed on some motorcycles. They said the whole thing was hilarious and I'm sure it was! I'm glad that they were able to celebrate Thanksgiving even while they were so far away from home. Hope everyone had a happy Thanksgiving!
