Grandparent visit!

My parents came out to visit last week. Yea! They had a nice, long drive from California, but they got to see some cool stuff along the way. Including Monument Valley where all the old Westerns were shot. My dad's a big John Wayne fan so this place was on his must see list.

We had been telling Sammie for a few days that grandma and papa were coming and boy did she squeal and shake with excitment when she saw them coming up the front walk! I think my parents liked that welcome! We packed a lot into the five days that they were here. We went to the park (where Sammie amazed the grandparents by running non-stop for 45 min) we went to gymnastics, we took a drive to Medicine Park on Memorial Day and enjoyed feeding ducks and fish and turtles (where Joni was amazed by the numerous turtles that were actually swimming and not just being bumps on a rock), and we also went to Oklahoma City so we could take the grandparents to Toby Keith's Bar and Grill. So, there you have it! That was our last week in a nutshell! Oh, Jim and I got to go on a date to see Indiana Jones and have dinner at the Olive Garden and that was really nice. Also, since my parents were here I got to go on a ride on Jim's bike with him. It was pretty scary at first, but then I got more relaxed as time went on. We drove through the Wildlife Refuge and its kinda scary to drive by bison and longhorns without the protection of a car around you! Luckily we didn't get gored or even chased by the dangerous Oklahoma wildlife.

Jim spent some time this past week working on tiling our bathroom because the previous owners decided to put carpet in there. Weird, I know. But Jim's doing a fantastic job and he even got to buy himself a wet saw to cut tiles with.

At Medicine Park.....

Sammie was bouncing up and down on my mom's foot and we asked her to smile. This is what we got!
