My baby turns 1! And other happenings.

I'm a little late in announcing this, but Reese is 1! My baby turned 1 on January 7th! So crazy how time flies. Here are some 12 month old stats. Reese has four teeth. She's been walking since 10 1/2 months. She chases me with a toy shark and does the "Jaws" shark sound (nuh-nuh, nuh-nuh). She weighs just under 20lbs. She hated getting bundled up for the snow trip we took over Christmas break. She loves to antagonize her big sister by stealing her most special blanket and running off with it. She loves to smile and hug her mommy and even plays well all by herself!
Here are a few pictures of Reese enjoying her first birthday. She loves picking flowers, and she got a ride from dad in her new wagon, and she liked eating her birthday cake!





One of our traditions here in Monterey has been taking a Sunday drive after church. We go to the early service at 8:30, and after visiting with friends afterwards, we head over to Peets coffee for a latte. Then we head out on an adventure to explore the surrounding areas. One of our favorite things to do is to drive along the coast and to go to different beaches. A few weeks ago we drove out through Pacific Grove to Asilomar Beach. There are lots of places to pull off the road here and explore the rocky shore. Sammie looooves searching for little shells and treasures and she collected them in her coat. It was a really windy day so Reese mostly just hung out with me and walked slowly on the rocks. We were prepared this time with jeans, jackets, and good shoes! Last time we found ourselves at this beach, we were all wearing church shoes! Not so good for exploring!
