An eventful week! Plus, my new best friend!

Okay, so lets start with the most recent thing that happened and go back from there. Today Jim and I took Sammie to an airshow at Altus AFB about 45 min from us. Sammie looooves airplanes. At one of the parks that we frequent they fly really low overhead and she squeals and screams "airplanes!" over and over again. Last weekend we even took a trip on an airplane, but I'll get to that later. It was a beautiful day today, not hot, and a little wind so it was a perfect day to be outside. You can see Sammie trying to wiggle out of my arms as we exit an airplane...



...and here is Jim with Sammie in front of another airplane, but in this picture Sammie is fascinated by some horses that are doing a parade (they came over from Ft.Sill to do a little diddy before the airshow started.)

And now we get to some really exciting stuff! My good friend Joanna from Dallas (we grew up together in Cali) invited me to go with her to a Carrie Underwood/Josh Turner concert in Wichita Falls (about 45min from Lawton). Being the good friend that I am I couldn't turn her down and let her give the ticket to her husband who doesn't even like country music! So of course I went and we had a fabulous girls' night out! It was the best time I've ever had at a concert. Josh Turner has an amazing voice and our seats were in the 14th row and right next to the runway where Josh and Carrie would walk out to get close to the crowd. So exciting!! Joanna works for Vitamin Water and had to go to the concert for work, a bummer I know. She was there to meet some contest winners who won tickets to the concert as well as a for a Meet and Greet with Carrie, which leads me to.......

She was very nice and of course beautiful in person, just like she is on tv or in the magazines. She sounds as good in person as she does on the radio too! It was really neat to see her perform live. Thanks, Joanna, for taking me to the concert with you!



And now we go back in time to last weekend. Jim and Sammie and I flew to California for a quick trip to see my little sister, Erin, graduate from Pepperdine University! I can't believe that she's old enough to be out of college! Didn't I just graduate like, yesterday? Anyway it was a whirlwind trip, we left on Friday and got home on Sunday, but we got to visit with my family including my parents, grandparents, siblings, sister in law, and nieces! Sammie had a few cranky, stressful moments, but we made it there and back safely so all is good. And Sammie loooved seeing all the airplanes at the airport. I'm not sure if she understood that she was actually in an airplane, but thats ok.
