The Walters are here! They arrived dazed and confused and extremely hot (104!) to their new home in Lawton, OK. We picked them up from the airport on Wednesday evening. I am glad to report that they arrived intact after traveling for 20 hours straight. We were preparing Sammie for their arrival and she loved to talk about Zeke and Deacon, her "new friends". They got to play a lot yesterday while Josh ran around doing things like turning on water, electricity, etc. so that they could move out of the hotel and into their new home just down the street from ours. It is funny to see how all boy Zeke is. He loves tackling which is not Sammie's favorite way to play, and he also likes to destruct. If toys are on a flat surface, they must be removed instantly! So there were lots of crashing noises going on in my house yesterday. It's just interesting to compare the Walter boys to our girl. Sammie is very active, but she is definitely not a boy! But, the Walter boys are very sweet. Deacon is a hoot with his four front teeth and he has perfected the lightning quick crawl, and Zeke still really likes to play with sand. We are glad to have them here even if they are hot and miserable and missing Germany! You guys had to leave sometime!
Here is proof that the Walters were at my house!

Before the Walters got here, we had Jim's parents visiting with us. They were a great help with projects around the house and playing with Sammie. They got to see what a waterbug Sammie is when we took them to a pool on base. We bought her a new swimsuit with floatation pads on her chest and on her back. She can stay afloat without our help, and she looooves it! Jim's mom, Sue, taught Sammie a new phrase: Shake your bootie! It's pretty entertaining to hear her say it! I think Sue forgot how quickly Sammie picks up on new words!
Here is a family picture we took while they were here.
Here are Jim's parents with Sammie during their visit.
Here is Sam enjoying the pool and someone else's noodle. Before the Starling visit we went to a Fourth of July BBQ with some friends from church and we also took a trip to the OKC Zoo. Both were fun times. The BBQ was at a house right next to a big lake. And crazy campers and boaters at the lake shoot off fireworks for about 6 hours straight, so we got to see lots of fireworks! Sammie still talks about them and she tells us that they are sleeping now, it's pretty funny. Here is a picture of her little 4th of July outfit. I had a huge struggle finding a normal red/white/blue t-shirt (even at OLD NAVY!) for Sammie so I had to buy a super cute little tank instead!
