February Happenings....

February has been a month of learning...learning how to get out of the house with two kids...learning how to fanagle two kids into and out of stores (tip: take dad with you or try to leave them at home and go alone!)....learning how to manage my day so that I can try to get a work out in...etc., etc. It has been a fun month. We've taken day trips to Oklahoma City and to visit our friends Joanna and Nathan in Ft.Worth. We just celebrated our 6th anniversary...and this is very exciting because Jim has now been home for two anniversaries in a row! We celebrated this one by taking our family of four to the Olive Garden for dinner. And the good news is that we survived! I also made Cheesecake Truffle Bombs for a special treat. But instead of looking like "truffle bombs" they look more like cheesecake blobs with some chocolate thrown on top. Oh well. They still taste good!

Sammie keeps us entertained and comes up with new things to say or do almost daily. The other night at dinner after I said the prayer, she said "good prayer, mamma!" as she scarfed down whatever we were eating that night. Well, thanks Sammie. I guess she recieves praise for the cool stuff that she can do, so she likes to give praise back! She also told me today that I was a good helper. Hmmm. I think I'm the doer and she's the helper, but thats ok. One day she put on one of my monstrous and ugly nursing bras when I was folding laundry. Then she disappeared into my room and returned wearing my black heels! But I'm only sharing the picture of her with the heels on, no need to flash that bra around for the world to see. Jim said "I guess that's what she thinks of you...bras and high heels!" And what is weird is that I haven't worn those shoes in a long time so who knows why she pulled those off the shoe rack!

Reese so far has been a piece of cake. She eats well and sleeps well and even drinks from a bottle. This accomplishment took Sammie for-e-ver. She just didn't like bottles so she refused to take them for the longest time. So, Reese has been a delight to add to our family. After Sammie, the crazy, active kid that she is, well, God thought we deserved a little break and gave us Reese. Hopefully she'll stay nice and calm. Don't get me wrong, we love our crazy, active Sammie. She brings such joy and entertainment to our lives. But we do get tired sometimes!

What little girl doesn't like wearing mom's high heels?
Jim is getting a cuddle attack from his girls!
Here's me with my two beautiful girls. Kinda looks like Sammie has Reese in a headlock, but don't worry, it's just a sisterly hug!
Here's a close up of my brown eyed girl and her blue eyed baby sister. Where'd the blue eyes come from? I have brown eyes and Jim has hazel. Well, both our moms have blue eyes and apparently our recessive blue eyed genes found each other! hehe

Love the bra and heels story. Olivia loves wearing my shoes...must be a girl thing. Glad to hear you are adjusting well to two kiddos...you'll be my sounding board come the end of September. Happy 6th Anniversary!! Think that covers it.
