Sammie is very excited and always asks me questions like "did the baby taste that muffin you are eating?" and "where does the baby go to the bathroom?".
I absolutely love my doctor here in Monterey. My past docs were ok, but I think this doctor is more excited about this pregnancy than we are! Meaning, he loves his job and he loves the litte miracles that babies are. My other doctors were a little boring. They did the medical stuff just fine, but actually caring about their patients seemed to be out of their military pay grade.
And since I haven't posted in a million years, I'm going to add lots of pictures of my two big girls along with a few captions.....
Summer finally arrived in September and we ventured out into the yard to play with sprinklers. However, the girls were more interested in the mud that was created. It reminded me of playing in the mud with Lucas when we were little. :)
Ani, Sammie, and Reese on the stairs eating animal crackers.
The girls sharing a hug on the couch before beditme. It is fun to watch them play together and enjoy each other!
I came into the room and found Reese in a toy storage box. She has the best smile but I couldn't get it out of her for the camera! Reese's favorite things right now are drawing and erasing on the magna-doodle, and making block towers. Sammie never built towers, she just knocked down mine. But Reese on the other hand, takes the time and care to actually build litte towers. So cute!
Sammie was dressing up to go shopping. She's all set with her purse, her hat, her shoes, and her babies! Sam has the best imagination and can come up with some fun little narratives using her dolls/animals/princess toys. I love watching her when she doesn't know I'm paying attention and listening to the things that her toys say to one another.
We went to pick out some pumpkins last weekend. I love doing fall things. I was determined to get an awesome picture of the girls with pumpkins or hay bales. But I failed. This was the best I got!
Lately I've been inspired to buy the girls matching outfits. I hadn't really done this in the past, but I've gotten a few matching things together lately. Here is one outfit. Again, Reese is not sharing her sweet smile, but Sammie loves to pose!
And here they are saying, "enough pictures, mom!" And what's with all the snack eating on the stairs? I think they like to be able to sit next to each other and eat. Either that, or they think they are hiding from me with the snacks they stole from the pantry!
And just one more tidbit. My girls are obsessed with character band-aids. Every single owie must have one. Reese had two scraped knees awhile back and she had Scooby-Doo bandaids on them. She loved them. She would raise up her pants so that everyone could see her band-aids and point to her "doodi-doos!" I have to hide the band-aids up high or else Sammie would get into them. Then I'd find band-aid trash littering the house. Sam is very concerned with getting the band-aids on her fingers "soggy" when I make her wash her hands. It's pretty funny watching her try to wash just one hand with soap and water. I use band-aids as a distraction technique with Reese. Tonight she was cranky when I was trying to make dinner (as usual) so I put a new Strawberry Shortcake bandaid on her foot and told her to go show Sammie. This gave me a few minutes to finish what I was doing in the kitchen! I know this is a waste of band-aids, and I know some more strict mammas out there don't even buy character band-aids, but in our house we are free and easy with them. I read a parenting article once and the older mom's advice was to give every boo-boo a band-aid, because what does it really matter? Little kids think the band-aids make them feel better, and this is the only time that fixing an owie will be so easy. Take another look at the pictures I posted...do you see any bandaids?
Ok, after I wrote all that I went back and found a few more pictures.

Sammie looks exactly like you in the matching outfit picture on the stairs. So cute!!
I noticed Reese's bandaid in the stomping-in-the-mud picture right away. Went back and found one on Sammies toe in the sweet-sisters-on-the-couch picture. I feel like I haven't talked to you or seen you in so long. I'm missing the girls and needing a fix. Oh, and I had just checked last night for an update. Good thing you emailed me or it would have been a while before I checked again. Hugs and kisses.
Oh Joni, they're gorgeous!
Sigh. I miss you. We've been joking that Zeke has a new girlfriend out here, then Josh said, "Better not tell the Starling girl, wouldn't want to upset her over a fling." Funny guy.
I do think you should blog a little more often, even if it's just to put up a picture. They're getting so big. ;)
Hooray for girls! We're thrilled to hear that number three is another sister. (I'm sure I told you before, but I was TOTALLY sure that's what would happen to us. I was just wrong! Don't get me wrong -- I'm happy to have two and two, but I think watching my Jim deal with a houseful of girls would've been a riot.)
Your girls are gorgeous and I need to do a better job of getting together with you... especially so we can "reinforce" our children's friendship before we all move. :)
Yeah for girls. You guys are good at raising them! Love to you all, Paula
Our girls can have band-aid show n tell next year! Um, is Sammie naked in that photo of you and your friend? :)
Marie, Sammie is totally naked! That's why I had to crop the picture some. She was done swimming and just stripped and we couldn't get her out of the picture!
Awesome! Congrats! I love seeing the pics of your girls!

Congratulations on baby #3! You're just the opposite of us-- we had 3 boys in a row. I wasn't sure we would ever get a girl in the mix but the twins finally broke the trend. Hope the pregnancy is going well.
